Civil Service Muslim Network

Nuzhat is a National Health Improvement Lead for Public Health England. Committed to the inclusion agenda she is Chair for PHE’s Muslim Network Collaboration and she was recently appointed as Co-Chair for the Civil Service Muslim Network. She is also an active & vocal steering group member for her organisation’s BAME network. In recognition of the impact and influence she has had on faith inclusion, she was awarded the inaugural Civil Service Championing Faith and Belief Inclusion Award in October 2019. Nuzhat is chair & founder of a London based BAME women’s voluntary group, which aims to engage and connect with ‘seldom heard’ local women and girls to encourage participation in civic activity She is a Trustee on the Board of Merton Voluntary Services Council and provides visible leadership to other forums.

  • Outlining how the Civil Service Muslim Network works to ensure the civil service is a modern and diverse workplace, committed to promoting and ensuring faith and belief inclusion
  • Sharing guidance on how HR departments across the civil service can work collaboratively with faith networks to ensure a greater level of understanding of the role faith and belief must improve service user experience, tackling mental health and wellbeing, and cancer screening
  • Examining how PHE co-delivered the first interfaith webinar on the theme of ‘mental wellbeing’ and faith dialogue in partnership with other faith networks and no faith PHE colleagues
